Brescia
The city of Brescia, close to the Garda area, is a city of great historical and artistic interest, its foundation dating back to the Longobards era.

 

 

These are the sites which will be visited:

  • the castle, one of the most important fortified complexes in northern Italy, dating back top the XVI century. It currently hosts the Renaissance Museum

  • the Duomo vecchio o Rotonda, rich in works of art of great value

  • the Duomo nuovo, built during the XVII century on a project by the architect Gian Battista Laritana, native of Brescia

  • Museo della Mille Miglia

  • the Broletto, built in the XIII century, with the majestic Torre del Pegol

  • Palazzo Martinengo and its undergrounds with several archaeological finds

  • Santa Giulia, longobard monastic complex hosting the city museum

  • the Clock Tower of Piazza della Loggia, with its elaborate mechanical clock

  • Piazza della Loggia and its important buildings
