For the guests of the Camping Village Mare Pineta Baia Sistiana there several excursions available, to meet everyone's taste. The excursions are to be paid for. Departures are from the village itself. Prices and information are available at the village's reception or contacting our expert.

Excursions by motor vessel

Visit to the park and castle of Miramare, visit to the park and castle of Duino and visit to the Natural Reserve of Cona Island.

Cultural excursions

Interesting walk through the city of Trieste to discover its artistic and architectonic beauty, which reached their peak during the Habsburg period.

Wine-and-food excursions

Excursions by bus or car on the Street of the Terrano Wine, which connecs 18 restaurants and eating-houses offering products of a genuine cuisine, the result of the meeting between the cooking traditions of Friuli, Veneto and Austria.

Excursions by mountain bike

Excursions to discover Kras by cycling in the heart of nature, with the possibility to visit, during the trip, interesting historical sites and picturesque villages where time seems to have stopped.

Unusual excursions

Every Sunday (from May to October), the train “Rondò” leaves from Trieste and travels on the old Austrian railways of Trieste, discovering enchanting green places on the sea, old railway stations and unforgettable landscapes.

Speleological excursions

The Kras near Trieste has thousands of natural cavities and grottos. A must see is the Grotta Gigante (Giant Grotto), the biggest cavity in the world. A few kilometres from there, in Slovenia, there are the famous Grottos of Postumia and S. Canziano.

Excursions in the nature

Relaxing walks through the Trieste Kras, a region of great naturalistic interest which offers breathtaking views to enjoy while walking down the romantic paths that lead to the sea.

Excursions on horseback

Passing through the Kras on horseback is ideal for admiring the beauty of nature. Moreover, a few kilometres far from the camping village there is Lipica (Slovenia), famous resort all over the world for the Lipizzani stud-farm, used from 1580 by the Great Riding School in Vienna.

Climbing excursions

The “Falesie” of Kras are, for the lovers of this sport, an ideal gym for all climbing styles. In fact, the rocky walls of the Costiera Triestina, of the Sistiana Bay, of Val Rosandra and of the “Napoleonic” panoramic street attract numerous free climbers coming from the whole Europe.

Scuba diving excursions

Guided scuba divings to discover the hunks and remains of ancient and modern history and, on request, by booking, scuba divings in the beautiful Marine Park of the Miramare Reserve.
