Ilovik Island

The islands of Ilovik and Sveti Petar are on the south of Losinj, no more than about ten miles from Losinj itself,
separated by the Ilocacka Vrata strait. The only town in Llovik is also called Llovik. The island has a
perimeter of 5.8 km and occupies an area of 5.8 km². There are important
historical sites in Ilovik: the
archaeological site Sicardija, with the ruins of the medieval church of
San Andre, the roman archaeological area, covering 1 km, on the San
Pietro Island, the walls of a Benedictine monastery (eleventh
century) and the ruins of a little quadrangular tower, built by the
Romans in 1597.
