Santa Teresa Gallura is a small city located in the North of Sardinia, the most northen city on the mainland. Founded in 1801 by Vittorio Emanuele I,who dedicated it to his beloved wife Maria Teresa, the city replaced Longosardo, enjoying its privileged position: the most advanced point of the mouths of Bonifacio. The town is dominated by the Longosardo Tower, a true symbol, erected at the behest of Philip II of Spain. Around, in all directions, beaches and coves where you can enjoy a changing colors sea. Santa Teresa di Gallura, animated by thousands of tourists every summer who flock to the clubs and live music events, is also very close to the Lu Brandali Nuragic Complex, one of the most important in Northern Sardinia.
You will become a sea expert thanks to the Diving Centre in the Camping Village Baia Blu La Tortuga. Diving introduction courses made available to adults and children from 8 years, will give you the opportunity to learn the main techniques to deal with an underwater approach as a beginner. Diving courses and packages for beginners and experts are also offered.
The colours of the waters in this area of Sardinia and its fauna, will give you the unique possibility to dive and to explore an underwater landscape that will surprise you. If you want to feel this emotion, do not forget to bring your diving suit.
Children from 10 years on, can follow apnea courses and explore the waters of the nearby Camping Village beach up to 2 meters deep but also that of the National Park of La Maddalena. Children from the age of 15, instead, can dive down to 8 meters; both groups, will receive the international PADI / ESA / SSI patents at the end of the courses.
You can experience the adventure of planing over water in our Camping Village. The Kitesurf school and its experienced instructors will take you through practical and theoretical lessons, to discover this aquatic sport which will charge you up. This fascinating type of surf is feasible even when the wind is "weak", which is why you can easily master this technique even after a few introductory and basic courses to face the waters of the nearby beaches.
The Windsurf school section at the Camping Village Baia Blu La Tortuga is addressed to all those who want to face new challenges and want to learn the most appropriate techniques to face the two forces of nature, water and wind together. Balance and stability are fundamental for this sport activity and for lovers of active and dynamic holidays. Besides the waters of the campsite beach, daredevils can engage in riding the waves of the nearby beaches, always accompanied by qualified instructors.
Gallura and its surrounding areas are suitable for those who wish to do excursions on horseback. You can move along the paths of the hinterland, reach the coast or make long romantic strolls on the beaches while horse riding these beautiful animals. Thanks to this special "means of transport", you can reach areas that would otherwise be inaccessible and be fully surrounded by wild and unspoilt nature where you must stop to take some shots.
The North of Sardinia does not only offer crystalline seas and sand beaches. Gallura and its surroundings also offer mountain paths for days spent trekking. Thanks to this sport you can discover another aspect of Sardinia with its promontories and amazing views. Trekking can be done by anyone who wishes to discover all aspects and views of the island through paths that require different levels of difficulty.
Cycling is another way to go through paths and discern hidden corners of the territory. You can juggle between more quiet paths in the numerous villages of Gallura or go in more demanding routes in the countryside and on the surrounding peaks. Cycling is a valid alternative to be immersed in breath-taking natural landscapes.
Animation for our little guests is very important in the Camping Village Baia Blu La Tortuga. The Mini Club focuses on them with great enthusiasm and the conviction that kids need to be stimulated more and challenged during their holidays to discover the joy of playing with new friends. A staff of youngsters involves them daily in different recreational and sports activities to ensure they have fun. Time flies and days seem shorter during tournaments, team games and fun on the beach.
Departure in the morning by motorboat from the port of Santa Teresa di Gallura to the Archipelago of La Maddalena with an overview of the Mouths of Bonifacio while sailing. You can reach the island of Budelli where you can admire the famous "Pink Beach", head for the island of Santa Maria and make the first stop for a swim in the crystal clear waters of the archipelago. Then continue to the island of Spargi for the second stop. After lunch on board you can reach the island of La Maddalena and disembark to visit the historical centre, discover the local crafts and do some shopping. After the visit, sail back to Santa Teresa di Gallura along the coast to admire the Cala Sambuco panorama, La Marmorata and the beautiful beach of Rena Bianca where you could stop for the last swim depending on the time of the day and weather conditions.
