The History of Santa Teresa di La Gallura
Santa Teresa La Gallura is a municipality located in the deep north of Sardinia, of which it represents the last municipality on the mainland. Founded in 1801 in the then locality of Longosardo by Vittorio Emanuele I, who dedicated it to his beloved wife Maria Teresa, it enjoys a privileged position: in fact, it represents the most advanced point of the mouths of Bonifacio. The village is dominated by the landmark Tower of Longosardo, erected at the behest of Philip II of Spain. All around, in all directions, beaches and coves where you can enjoy the changing colors of the sea. Santa Teresa di Gallura, which is enlivened every summer by thousands of tourists who flock to the clubs and live music events, is also very close to the Lu Brandali Nuragic Complex-one of the most important in northern Sardinia.
