Nearby there are many towns that offer an ideal destination for a day trip: Caorle, a city devoted to tourism and a Blue Flag for more than 20 years; Portogruaro, known for its architectural beauty; Lison, with its “Bosco del Merlo”; and Bibione famous not only for its lidos but also for an important spa. Inland of particular interest is the area of Palladio’s Villas around Vicenza, a collection of Venetian villas (from the territory of the Venetian Republic), mostly concentrated in the province of Vicenza, built in the mid-sixteenth century by architect Andrea Palladio for the most important local families, prominent members of the Venetian Republic.
