Leaving in the direction of Valledoria, one can reach the valley of the Moon in Aggius, named for its totally unusual naturalistic aspect. Walking through this flat area full of granite boulders, isolated or in groups, of various sizes, you will feel like you are on the moon with this landscape dotted with rocks. The distinctive shapes of the boulders here are reminiscent of animal figures and profiles of human faces, the most distinctive being the famous “Plato’s Head” rock. This particular landscape deserves a stop to take some photo shots.

After a lunch break tasting traditional Gallurese dishes, in the afternoon you can take yourself to Castelsardo, a small medieval village, part of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Italy” with the Castle that houses the Museum of Mediterranean Interweaving. On the way to this beautiful place you can admire, on the side of the highway 134 of Anglona, the “Elephant Rock” a boulder fallen in the valley detached from Mount Casteddazzu characterized by a peculiar shape that reminds precisely the pachyderm with the trunk.
