Capo Caccia is an imposing limestone promontory that overlooks the Alghero roadstead, and with Punta Giglio, Alghero’s other limestone promontory, encloses the large gulf of Porto Conte. The Capo Caccia meteorological station resides here, and because of its strategic location it is equipped with a lighthouse, which at 186 meters high is one of the most visible from a distance in the entire Mediterranean and all of Italy.
